Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam instructed the Police Investigation Bureau (PBI) to investigate the case and submit the official report on December 1.
Charges have been brought against members of the group Shibu Kumer Shill, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, Rasheed Sharif Shoaib, MG Kibria, Amzad Hossain, Tanbeer Dawood Rony and Shourov Sarker.

Meghdol was founded in 2002 and officially started their journey with the release of “Om” in 2005. The group received a lot of praise with the release of their subsequent albums.
In February last year, Imrul Hasan sued Baul singer Rita Dewan and two others under the Digital Security Act on similar charges, undermining religious sensibilities.
Arrest warrants were issued for Rita, who subsequently obtained bail. Last week, the Dhaka Cyber Tribunal indicted the three men for making “derogatory comments” about religion and hurting people’s feelings during a performance.
The other two are Md Shahjahan and Md Iqbal Hossain.
According to case documents, Rita Dewan was playing a “Pala Gaan” with fellow artist Shah Alam Sarkar, where the topic of discussion was “Living beings versus the greatest”. The event took place on the night of December 10, 2019 at the residence of a certain Shahjahan Kabir in the Kalihati upazila in Tangail.
Shahjahan and Iqbal had uploaded Rita’s songs to their YouTube channels, according to case documents.
