Great children’s music shows for your little Mozart or rock star

As parents, we want our children to be as complete as possible in their education and interests. Yes, STEM learning is important. Sport keeps us healthy and teaches us teamwork and perseverance. But let’s not forget the vast and wonderful world of the arts! Literature, painting and, of course, music. And since children learn a lot through television we have created music shows for children to sing, dance, clap and learn at the same time.

Unfortunately, there appears to be a shortage of programming for shows explicitly devoted to music. Fortunately, it’s a little OK! Write for PBS KidsDr. Robert A. Cutietta, dean of the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, said one of the best ways to encourage musicality in a child is to… sort of start listening music together! Wear it all day long, sing and dance – make it fun. These tips might sound simple, but when you’re talking about something as universal and innate as music, it doesn’t have to be complicated.

There are a lot very music-focused TV shows and series beyond your classic Broadway and Disney classic musical movies. (Although, by all means, add them to the mix as well!) Here is just a little list to get you started!
